Importing Drugs - and taking Senior Votes
Classic example of why Democrats control Illinois:
ILLINOIS REPUBLICANS ARE CAUGHT HAVING TO DEFEND IDIOTIC NATIONAL POLICIES PUT IN PLACE BY WASHINGTON KOOL-AID REPUBLICANS.

The gist: Blagojevich is now positioned to be the savior of senior citizens in Illinois by going out his way to defy federal law on their behalf. It's a win-win for Dems - in many ways they just saw the train leaving the station and all the pharmacutical lobbists yelling at it to stop. Figuring that was as good a reason as any to get on board, Dems made it their cause and now that Importing Drugs is an issue, it's obvious to the entire country that it's ludicrous to make Americans pay twice as much for drugs as, for example, the evil French pay.
But all of this political trainwreck happened because DC Republicans (who have constant contact with Pharmlobby people and little if any contact with AARP people) just got the entire Illinois Republican party pantsed in the town square.
Did anyone think the AARP might walk over to the Dems, who actually control stuff, and ask for help?
Did anyone think that senior citizens of any affluence level might take offense at being gouged by billion dollar donors to the RNC?
Did anyone think that senior citizens might go online and find a way to save 50%!!!! on their drugs?
This is EXACTLY why Republicans are the serfs of Illinois feudalism. They often deserve it.
