Notes from the One Party State of Illinois

Working on getting some more stats and stuff on this but, this much is true:

In Chicago: Municipal judges, those handling cases involving less than $50,000, are not required to hold a law degree or have passed a bar exam. Civil service people can simply be appointed to a judgeship.

Now, who does the appointing? Prime Minister Daley? The Cook County Politburo? The Anti-Christian Lawyers Union?
