On this September Day....

the question I hear most is, "Why does it have to be us that goes and fights the war? Why do we have to be the nation that does it?"

The answer is not easy to hear.

"Because we are the only one that ever has."

It's true. Think hard. Name another country that even considers doing what we do in every war we have fought: Risk our sons and daughters for the freedom of others. And why is that? Because Americans know how precious freedom is, even someone else's.
